Officially Lake Windermere is the largest Lake in the UK at approximately 10 miles long. Many boat trips are offered ranging from small 2 seater boats to larger passenger ferries and most of these trips originate at Bowness on Windermere. The ferry services visit Ambleside and Lakeside where you can visit the Aquarium of the Lakes approximately 40 minutes each way giving ample time to take in the scenery that the Lake District has to offer. You can also choose to return via the Haverthwaite steam railway.
